Membership of The Clan Lindsay Society is open to all who bear the surname Lindsay (or one of its many spellings) or have a blood-line descent from a Lindsay ancestor, irrespective of your current surname. We encourage new Members from all around the world. You are most welcome.
The principal object is to bring together a “living family” of people all bearing the same surname, or descent from the surname Lindsay, irrespective of its origin and spelling. It is quite possible, but by no means certain, that many of the present Members of the Society are descendants of the Lindsay family established in Scotland by one Walterus de Lindeseya in the time of David, Prince of Cumbria, circa 1113 prior to him becoming king David I.
