It is with great sorrow that we mark the passing of “Aunt Marty”, as she was lovingly know to her friends and kinsfolk.  Marty Thurmond was born on 18 February 1936 in Nashville, Georgia to John T and Sallie Lindsey.  Marty passed away on 26 May 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer and heart disease.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, both as a Member of our Society and a mainstay of the Clan Lindsay Association, USA.  She served the American Association for approximately 30 years as Treasurer, Registrar, Councillor and was Editor of the “Recorder” Newsletter from 1996 – 2012.

Marty is survived by her husband George, son Thomas and daughter Lynn. Her remains are interred at the Georgia National Cemetery.
